Blonde beauties and family creativity

I’ve been loving drawing with coloured pencils recently – particularly after I saw the beautiful images that Jennifer Healy creates. Her pictures are amazing and I really admire the fact that she’s self-taught – it gives me hope that one day I may be able to create something as stunning. This is my first portrait using coloured pencils (they’re water soluble too) so I know I have a huge amount still to learn but I really enjoyed doing this, and I think I helped to inspire my daughter to draw her very own blonde lady although she’s adamant that I had nothing to do with her choice of subject matter!

Here is the cropped image; my husband says the lips are good – which in my book is a huge compliment as our tastes in art are very different! Now it’s back to a little drawing and painting in between sporadic bouts of writing 🙂

    1. Thank you very much Helen – I’m super pleased to have your comment 🙂

I always find it fascinating to see what parts of an image particularly speak to people.

      Best wishes, M x
